My Honda Civic is now in Collision Center

We were doing driveway sealing two Fridays ago, and I have to park our car on the street for a few nights. Well, being "not so lucky" that Friday night, a lady backed her car onto ours, and caused a big dent on the passenger door. While feeling unlucky, I am feeling lucky that the lady was kind hearted, that she left her contact information for me.

After a few phone calls to insurance company, and a trip to the collision center for repair estimate, I finally checked our car in for repair today, and it will be staying there for the rest of the week.

As a result, my insurance company will get me a rental car for a week until my car is ready to pick up. I told the car rental agent that I would like to try out Toyota Yaris, but she said the customer before me just took the last one. I ended up getting a 2007 model Toyota Corolla. I am a bit disappointed as the car doesn't even have a cassette player, it only comes with CD player. It really prompted me to miss my old 1999 Civic. Anyway, Doreen was delight to see CD player in the car. Maybe I should switch to CDs... but what should I do to my many old cassettes?

Camping

上周末我们和谦谦哥哥一家到Fitzroy省公园Camping去了。本来是想周六去Camping住一个晚上。后来天气预告预测周六晚上的温度会降到8度，而周日晚上只降到16度，我们临时改期到周日Camping。

我们当天中午到的省公园，搭好帐篷后我们到了渥太华河边的沙滩玩水。水蛮冷的，谦谦哥哥冷到一直在发抖。Cobcob 也穿了"游泳"尿布下水泡水一下下（少于半分钟），Cobcob 下水后即刻叫了一声，之后急忙把手放入口里安慰自己，后来还是大叫起来。宝宝那天晚上也像平时一样睡足了9-10小时。我们隔天也 Hiking 了一个多小时。Cobcob 在这个Camping当中非常的合作。

问：Cobcob 晚上会冷吗？
答：不会。Cobcob 是睡在他自己 Camping 用的Self-inflating床垫，再加上 Abby 姐姐送的零下30 度的冬天衣服＋睡袋。我们还需要半夜起来看他会不会太热。

Lily 的一种

这是我们在2004年夏天在Niagara Falls旅行时买的花种种出来的花。也记不住它叫什么名称了，只知道它是Lily 的一种，每年八月份开花，而且发出阵阵的花香。带着Cobcob坐在前院赏花，真是花香“娃”语，充满了生机。

5 Months Old

大家好！我是Cobcob。我今天已经五个月大了。我正在努力学习自己坐起来，但我还坐不稳，不过我已经学会开心的时候尖叫。Grace的妈妈说Grace喜欢看家里后院的树，妈妈也尝试给我看树。妈妈的结论是：凡事会动的东西我都喜欢看；我喜欢看树，更喜欢看人，因为叔叔、阿姨常逗我笑。

加拿大的医生建议宝宝六个月大才给吃副食。但我最近一周可能吃不饱常半夜饿醒，所以妈妈决定开始给我吃副食了。今天我吃了我一生以来的第一口“饭”，吃了一汤匙的米糊。

最近教会里有一个小孩子叫 Cobcob 着 “Spider Baby"。后来才懂原来Spiderman也爱做这种手势。

Our movie date

Last Saturday, we went out for a short 2 hours movie dating at AMC Kanata 24. We really had our good time together.

Thanks Lingzhen and Pengfei for helping us to take care of Cobcob.

又打预防针了

Cobcob两个月大的时候曾打过一次针，今天又带他去打针。本来只需要打两支针，但因我们年底要回马来西亚，医生建议多打一支Hepatitis B的预防针。打第一支针之后，Cobcob就开始哭了。但他很快的就把他的手塞进嘴巴，边哭边吃手的打完另外两支针。可能他这次比上一次大了两个月，从开始打针到结束他也只哭了三分钟。

上次打完针回家后又哭又闹，又发烧。这次却恰恰相反，不哭也不闹，也没发烧，而且心情也很好，中午也比平时睡得多。爸爸下班之后还带他出去买菜。卖完菜后又去家里附近的公园走一圈。

今天（四个月又三周）的
体重是：7.82kg
身高是：67.5cm.

我们又聚会啦!!

这是我们baby的第二次聚会了，看，我们是不是都长大了。。。

这一次老大Gabriel及老末Sierra没有来，不过Irene这一次来了。。Kathleen有来，但不在这张照片里。。

Superman

妈妈平时跟Cobcob玩时都会把他举起来当Superman飞。。
最近Cobcob脚已经很有劲了，妈妈把他一举起来，他的脚就会伸直，真的就象Superman。。

Cobcob 翻身啦。。

Cobcob大约在一个月前，每次只要妈妈帮一帮他，他就可以翻身了。。但从8月4日开始，Cobcob从第二次的baby聚会回来，就开始能自己翻身了。。而且在8月4日的下午，连续的翻了好几次。。

今天早上爸爸妈妈在房间里又听到Cobcob在叫救命，到他房间一看，原来是Cobcob自己翻身过来，但左脚被卡住了。。发现他现在越来越可爱了：）

除草记

夏天最麻烦的就是除草及拔野草。今年夏天多了一个小帮手，最近常常陪着爸爸在前院、后院弄草。如果注意看照片的话，在拍第一张照片时候，Cobcob正在大哭，爸爸的那一副表情是多么的无奈。当爸爸一放下耙子，逗他一下，他即刻乐了起来。他是开始皮了。

Cobcob's First Hair Cut

中国人民间一直流传着“满月剃胎毛”的风俗。我们人虽然在加拿大，我想风俗多多少少还是要跟一点。（虽然没有跟足在满月时剃头，但好歹对我们的风俗也有一些交待。）

我们上周日两人花了半个小时，在Cobcob又哭、又闹、又撒尿之下终于把任务完成。

If you are expecting, or having a baby, don't forget to subscribe the weekly email from the Baby Center. I really enjoy reading Baby Center's email and comparing Cobcob's week by week's development through the pregnancy and beyond. It is fun to know tips and different techniques from other people, however whatever approach you settle on, make sure it's one you feel comfortable with.

Below is an example of Q&A from Baby Center I read today:

Is it okay to let my baby spend time playing alone?

Solo play is not only okay, it's a must-do! While the time you spend playing with your baby is central to his development (and for many parents, among the day's highlights), his ability to play independently — even for a few minutes at a time — is also important. It builds self-reliance and confidence, skills that will be valuable to your baby throughout his life.

"Playing alone" doesn't mean setting your baby on the floor and leaving the room, however. Get your baby started on his own by providing a few toys and initiating the activity. Once he's engaged, move out of his view. (Make sure he's in a child-safe area to begin with, such as a playpen or a childproofed living room.) Resist stepping in to retrieve dropped toys or to show your baby how each one works. Let him figure it out on his own. Return to his side when he seems frustrated or upset.

As your baby grows older and gets better at interacting with a variety of playthings, you'll be able to leave him alone, under supervision, for longer periods of time. Not only is this good for his development, but it's helpful for you, too, as you'll gain precious extra minutes for yourself in your day.

没办法，他们俩每天都在一起，而且我也没奶喂 Cobcob。哈、哈。

翻身

Cobcob 快要会自己翻身了。昨天 Cobcob “不小心” 翻了一次身，在那边喊救命。这张照片是今天早上拍的。看样子他很快就能翻身了。

Cobcob 三个半月大的睡眠时间如下：

• 晚上八点左右入眠
• 隔天早上六点左右醒，妈妈喂完奶后把他放回小床。
• 从六点半开始，自己在小床里玩，然后再继续睡到八、九点。
• 中午有两次的一至两个小时的小睡。
• 晚上八点左右又再入眠

Passport Photo

我们今年年底要回马来西亚玩一个半月，所以今天下班后带 Cob 宝宝到黑店 (The Black) 去拍 Passport 照片。看得出 Cobcob 是躺在地上拍的吗？

那家店真的是名副其实的黑店，两张小 Passport 照片竟然是加币二十一块钱。（大人、小孩一样价钱。）Note: Costco 才七块钱，但 Costco 不帮三尺以下的儿童拍照。

IKEA 买 "Chest of Drawers" 记

两周前到 IKEA 买了 "Chest of Drawers"。 在安装组合时发现有一根木头跟其他相对的短了一公分，根本安装不上。后来跑去 IKEA 换了这根木头。组合快要结束的时候，又发现有一片木板的洞与其他的木板不符合，又到了 IKEA 一趟。当时换完木板之后，告诉服务员这是我第二次来换组合了，有点不方便，也顺口问他 "I was wondering what you can do for me?"。服务员想也不想的就这样给了我 $15 的 Gift Card。

木板带回家之后又发现之前一面的洞是吻合了，但另一面的洞却不吻合，真气人。第三次在回到 IKEA 换木板时，先谢谢服务员的服务，然后很有礼貌的告诉他我花了两周的时间，而且这次是第三次回来换组合，对我是非常不方便，然后才问他 "I was wondering what you can do for me?"。 那服务员在电脑前敲敲两下，告诉我他可以还我 $50，还问我 "Is that OK?"。当时我又从 Not Happy Customer 变成了 IKEA 的 Happy Customer 了。

下一次如果你有类似的遭遇，可试用 Magic Sentence "What you can do for me?"。 记得要有礼貌哦！

Babies Gathering

上个周末我们产前班同学来一个聚会，同一个时间来了八个小宝宝，热闹得很。我们把宝宝们排成一排，从最大排到最小。Cobcob 在里面是排行老五。

注意与 Cobcob 同年同月同日生的 Kathleen 小宝宝，她比 Cobcob 迟了两个小时出来，而且是同一家医院出生的。更巧的是他们的产房就在我们产房隔壁。Cobcob 出生时九磅，Kathleen 是十一磅。
